About our sponors
California State Parks Foundation
California State Parks Foundation, an independent, member-supported nonprofit with over 50 years of history, is dedicated to protecting and preserving the California state park system for the benefit of all. We work in parks and in Sacramento with partners, park staff, and policymakers to address the challenges parks face. To make real and lasting change we are working to build a movement of people who enjoy and advocate for their parks now, and for future generations. Learn more at www.calparks.org.
Crystal Cove Conservancy

California State Railroad Museum Foundation
The California State Railroad Museum Foundation is a nonprofit dedicated to preserving and promoting California’s railroad heritage through education, historical preservation, and public engagement. As the official nonprofit partner to California State Parks, the Foundation supports both the California State Railroad Museum in Old Sacramento and Railtown 1897 State Historic Park in Jamestown, helping to bring California’s rail history to life through hands-on learning and authentic rail experiences.
Central to the Foundation’s mission is the support of educational programs that connect visitors of all ages to California’s railroad legacy. By securing private funding and fostering public support, the Foundation enables innovative exhibitions, engaging events like The Polar Express™ Train Ride, and unique programs such as the LMIT Rail in Action initiative. These educational efforts inspire a new generation’s appreciation for the history, technology, and cultural impact of railroads on California’s growth.
Through its partnership with State Parks, the Foundation co-manages the interpretive railroads at both sites, working to enhance visitor experiences, expand educational offerings, and ensure the continued preservation of historic rail assets. The Foundation is dedicated to making the museum a world-class destination that keeps California’s rail history accessible and relevant.
Parks California
Parks California was launched in 2019 as a new model of public, private, and non-profit partnership. As the official statutory non-profit partner to California State Parks, working statewide, it’s uniquely positioned to innovate and work hand-in-hand with communities and experts to bring resources together, ensuring that everyone can experience healthy and thriving parks for generations to come.
This year, Parks California celebrates 5 years of partnering with over 100 non-profits and tribal groups to help more than 28,000 people experience one of California’s 280 state parks – many for the first time ever – so that they can start a lifelong love of nature.

California Parks Hospitality Association (CPHA)
Formed in 1992, the CPHA represents companies and individuals who provide hospitality services under contract with the California Department of Parks and Recreation. Contract service providers commonly referred to as “concessionaires”, have been an integral part of California State Park System beginning with Big Basin State Park in 1913. Concessionaires provide a wide range of hospitality services aimed at helping visitors to enjoy their park experience. Today there are over 200 concession operations with the 280 California State Parks. In addition to services to visitors, these operations pay the State more than 20 million dollars in rent and maintenance fees each year.
CPHA directly serves its members and indirectly all concession operators within California State Parks. CPHA provides an important communication link between concessionaires and the leadership of the Department of Parks and Recreation. CPHA provides training, information, and other services which help CPHA members to provide quality visitor services within the parks.
